Tiger’s Eye is a popular, chatoyant metamorphic gemstone known for its silky luster and golden-to-red-brown banded color, resembling a tiger’s eye. As a quartz-family chalcedony, it forms when crocidolite fibers are replaced by silica, creating a distinct, moving, wavy light effect (chatoyancy). It is primarily mined in South Africa.
